We expect all our users to be comfortable with the Linux command line and familiar with the concepts of FAIR data and data security before using our server.

All users must complete informational courses on handling data using the Linux command line before requesting a new account, and achieve a score of over 80% in the associated quizzes. This ensures that every user can perform their analyses without difficulty.

To ease the process, we organise one introductory Linux session and one Data Tour session on monthly bases. An email regarding this is sent to all MIB. Advanced users can attempt the quiz and email bioinfo@mib.wur.nl for feedback.

The conditions for accessing the MIB infrastructure for new users are as follows:

  • Join one complete session of the Data Introduction Tour and pass the quiz.
  • Join one complete session of Basic Linux Tutorial 1 and pass the quiz.
  • Read this documentation in full.

Check out the next Data Tour and Basic Linux Tutorial sessions using this link.
